For the money, hotel was worth it. Convenient location in Hitchin, quiet area. Breakfast wasn't overly impressive, for the price I can't complain.
Attended Sonisphere music festival
The best part of our stay at the hotel was leaving.
After a long days travelling they wouldn't let us check in until 2pm even though our room had been ready for hours. They did not clean our room after the 1st day, they did not change towels, the tv picture was terrible, the room was noisy in the evening, in general a terrible experience. The staff at reception did not want to be there.
The location is very nice, and very peaceful.
The room was fairly small, and in need of a re-vamp. I was happy to pay for the 2 nights I stayed at Hitchin Priory, but only because they had an offer on - if it was the usual price then I wouldn't recommend it.We were only using the Hotel for somewhere to stay after an evening out so I didn't mind that the room was "tired" as others have said. It was comfortable enough, had somewhere to sleep and somewhere to eat which on this occasion was all I really needed. However I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking to stay in together.
Cleanliness of the room (number 27).Head board broken. bathroom area not clean desk seems to have not been wiped for awhile.carpe tired.
Pease and quaet!!!! Thats what you need for weekend.
Five minutes walk into town. Stayed in small character cottage close to main building. Room was lovely and warm. Very peaceful. Able to make use if wi-fi. Excellent breakfast. All staff extremely helpful. All minor problems addressed immediately.
Clean, has more character than the chains and is well-located with plentiful free parking in the middle of town.
My phone charger was removed in error by the cleaner during my stay but I retrieved it at check-out.
Very interesting building, old and new parts set in lovely grounds yet in the town centre. Double aspect of bedroom 15 which was not fussy (often a problem with period rooms)
The bathroom needed renovating and has room for a separate shower which would be an improvement, Tv reception was poor.
Warm welcome, clean warm room, excellent Fish and Chips in the bar
Restaurant was closed, but it was a Monday night
The staff were very friendly and the old part of the priory is very picturesque
Good friendly staff on reception, great breakfast, exceptional building. Clean room
Looks like the last refurb was done in the 1970's.
Good location, room ok but not brilliant, breakfast good. Price comparable with other local hotels.
Room situated in building detached from main hotel.
The public areas are beautiful, the staff friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good and the location is convenient.
The quality of the room did not match the quality of the public areas - particularly the bathroom.
Location, grounds, hotel interior (general areas) were nice
Room needed a good clean, carpet was very old, overall the room was 'tired'
